The holidays can become very expensive very quickly with all of the gifts that you'll be giving. I personally like to make most of my gifts because I get to save money while giving a more personalized, heartfelt present to each person. Whether you're looking to make a few things last-minute, or you're just looking for a few extra ideas, this blog will be the perfect place to find a lot of bath-and-body related gift ideas in the next week. I'm kickstarting the set of pampering gift ideas with these lavender scented bath salts. They're pretty, they smell nice, they're easy to make and they're cost-effective... what more could you ask for?
- Epsom salt
- Himalayan pink sea salt (I got mine for $5 at Winners... these types of stores generally have this type of ingredient at lower prices.)
- Lavender essential oil
- Jars to put your salts in
You might be wondering why I decided to use pink sea salts. They actually have lots of benefits... they can help to detox your body, and relax and sooth sore muscles. They also help circulation, and replenish your skin, not to mention that they look beautiful!
First of all, you'll want to wash and dry all of your jars before you actually start making the salts. Then, pour some epsom salts into a plastic, disposable container and add a few drops of lavender essential oil. Mix the oil in until there are no lumps in the mixture. The number of drops you add all depends on personal preference... add a little at a time so that you know when to stop adding more oil.
Once the essential oil drops have been well spread out through the epsom salts, add an equal amount of the mixture to each of your jars. The jars should be about half full.
Next, add equal amounts of Himalayan pink sea salt to each jar. Once it's been added, close the lids.
Finally, shake all of the jars until the white salts and pink salts are combined. The finished product should smell calming and look stunning... the white salt with pink specks in it looks beautiful in clear glass jars. You can make it for all of your friends, and they don't need to know how easy it was to make them... they can just enjoy a pampering and relaxing lavender bath :)
